City Of Sarasota To Roll Out New Recycling Rules

The city of Sarasota is switching to a new waste management contractor and rolling out some new rules for its recycling services. To make recycling more convenient for Sarasotans, Waste Pro, the new contractor, will not require you to separate the different materials of waste you are discarding. You will be able to place glass, aluminum, plastic, and paper all in a single container – in fact, the city will even be issuing large, single containers at some point next year to simplify the process. The city will also now collect yard waste, so long as it is placed in a container or bundled together in segments up to four feet long and weighing less than 50 pounds.

The new rules take effect this Saturday, September 2nd. The city of Sarasota hopes to promote recycling, conserve landfill space, and protect the environment by making recycling easier for everyone.
