Last week, we wrote about how Sarasota will be getting a new rooftop bar later on this year atop the Marriott Springhill Suites. This week, we’d like to take a closer look at the Perspective Rooftop Pool Bar, located on top of the Art Ovation Hotel in Downtown Sarasota. This bar is open to the public, though the large swimming pool is restricted to hotel guests only. Though its view and facilities are not quite as expansive as the The Roof Bar and Eats on the Westin Hotel, it tends to be easier to get into than the high-demand Roof Bar and Eats, and still offers a spectacular view of sunsets over the bay. The bar features some sophisticated signature cocktails, such as Flowers on the Wall, with Banyan Reserve Vodka from St. Petersburg Distillery as well as lime, creme de violette, almond syrup and caramelized pineapple, and The Ringling, made with Plantation 3 Stars rum, lime juice, simple syrup and absinthe. The bar also serves a variety of delicious appetizers to enjoy while mingling among Downtown Sarasota’s rooftops.
