Owner Of Iconic Live Music Venue Ready To Sell

George Generoso, owner of the Five O’Clock Club bar located at 1930 Hillview St. just south of Downtown Sarasota, is ready to sell his iconic live music venue. The Five O’Clock Club, which has been open since 1955, has hosted performances from many local bands of all genres, as well as famous bands and artists including AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, The Allman Brother Band’s Dickey Betts, and The Police’s Andy Summers.

Generoso is in his 60s now and is ready to retire. It is not yet known if the building’s future owners will maintain the building’s usage as a live music venue or if it will be renovated for another usage. The 1,576 SF building is currently zoned Commercial Neighborhood and was last renovated in 1991.
