After five years of debate, Sarasota city leaders have agreed to lease the Lido Beach pavilion and pool to Lido Beach Development Partners in exchange for upgrades to said pavilion and pool. The ten year lease period will begin on May 1, 2018. The Lido Beach Development Partners will provide $3-4 million worth of renovation to the pool, a new children’s splash pad, an expansion to the pavilion, a new tiki bar and ice cream parlor, and a new 200-seat restaurant called “Castaways of Lido Key”.
